Early Success – List

Below is an interactive table that contains data from all players who had their first good season since the 2007/2008 season. To qualify, a player also had to be born after 1988 (to prevent players like 38-year-old Brendan Shanahan having their first good season in 2007/2008).

The table contains:

  • Name and Position mean name and position.
  • Age F.G.S. is the age of the player’s first good season (PR-Regular or better).
  • First Good Season is the season in which the player had their first good season.
  • First Good PR-SC is the PR-Score of their first good season (see below for how a PR-Score converts to a PR-Category).
  • Good Seasons is the number of good seasons (PR-Regular or better) a player has had.
  • Max VR-Score is the maximum VR-Score a player has had (VR-Score converts to VR-Category using the same strategy).
  • Max VR-Cat is the VR-Category of their maximum VR-Score.
  • Ave VR-Score is the average VR-Score of the player.

The table on the left shows how a PR-Score is converted to a PR-Category. For example, Jonathan Huberdeau’s first good season had a PR-Score of 6.03, which means his first good season was a PR-First5 season.

The records can be sorted by any of the columns. Just click on the Header that you want to sort by. The first time you click on the Header, the table will be sorted by that column alphabetically. While the 2nd time you click on the Header, the table with be sorted in reverse alphabetical order.

The Search function goes through the player names and will display all the rows that contain the text entered in the Search Box. For example, if you were to type “Alex” in the Search Box the table would display all players like Alex Galchenyuk, Alexis Lafreniere and Alexander Alexeyev.

If the Search function is used after the table was sorted using any of the Headers, the table will remain in the sorted order while only displaying the rows containing the text in the Search Box.

Once you have entered text in the Search Box you can sort the rows that contain the text by any of the Headers.

Under the title “Search by the Following” the rows can be additionally filtered by the rows listed and by the items in the drop-down list shown for each column. By clicking on the item selected the filtering for that column is cleared.

The table initially show all the rows however you can select how many rows that you would like to display on a page by selecting the number of show entries (10, 25, 50, 100 or all). You would then use the Next or Previous, located at the bottom of the page, to navigate between pages.
